Patricia Ann Hughes, aged 91, peacefully passed away on April 2, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on March 18, 1934, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Patricia lived a full and loving life, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and grace.
Over the years, Patricia's most beloved job was raising her three children, and many grandchildren. This was a lifelong goal, and one she cherished deeply. She was also an accomplished interior designer and decorator who, alongside her husband Bill, owned and operated Cambridge Paint and Interiors for over 35 years. Her talent and dedication brought warmth and beauty to countless homes and hearts. Over the years, it wasn't unusual for clients and work associates to eventually become dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, to whom she was married for 59 years. She is survived by her daughters Whitney Hughes Illingworth and Dana Sue Hammond (husband Phil Hammond), son Adam Blakely Hughes (wife Debra Hughes), grandchildren Brittany (Eric) Robertson, Ashley, Daniel and Sarah Illingworth, Riley Grace Hammond, Zhen Hughes, Aimee (Jordan) Becker, Jennifer (Butch) Keefe, and Cole Ruble, as well as several great-grandchildren.
A gathering to honor and celebrate Patricia's beautiful life will be held on a later date, yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center, a testament to her compassionate heart.
