Obituary

Paul Canel, age 80 of Cambridge, died Friday, October 5, 2007 at his home. He was born October 26, 1926 in Kings Mine, Ohio, son of the late Mike and Angie Vicart Canel.
He was: a graduate of Lore City High School in 1944, a member of the Kipling United Methodist Church, a Life member of the Kipling V.F.W. 7371 past Post Commander and Quarter Master, a District 5 Commander from 1978 to 1979, a life member of the D.A.V., American Legion, a very active member of the Guernsey County Veterans Council and proud to serve, B.P.O.E. #448 Life Member and Eagles #386 and retired chapter I.B.E.W. 1105 where he worked as a Construction Electrician. He was proud to have helped Buckeye Trail Boosters through the Charity organization of the Kipling V.F.W. His grandchildren were very important to him and this is their school.
Paul leaves behind: his wife, Norma L. Brokaw Canel of the home; 1 daughter, Paula K. Canel of Cambridge; 2 sons, Amel Cathy Canel of Chester, W.VA., and Alan Dawn Canel of Cambridge; 2 grandchildren, Kate Canel of Cleveland and Paul Frank Canel of Cambridge; 1 sister, Naomi Walker of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; 1 brother, Jules Edith Canel of Zanesville, several nieces and nephews including a special niece Dee Shick of Cambridge.
He was preceeded in death by: 1 infant daughter, Connie; 5 brothers, Omer, Mitchell, Ansel, Abe and Amel; 4 sisters, Angele, Rose, Virginia ''Peanut'' and Doris.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 8, 2007 from 4 to 8pm with the service at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Bundy-Law Funeral Home. Rev. Nancy Parsons will officiate the service with burial following Senecaville, Cemetery. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veteran's Council.
