Pauline Fillippis, 82, of Cambridge, Ohio, sadly left us on Thursday, July 6, 2023.
Pauline was born on June 25, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Nikolas and Katherine (Kilargis) Garifalos. She was a 1958 graduate of Bartram High School, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In 1960 she meet George Fillippis of Pereaus, Greece, and they married on June 26, 1960, were blessed with a daughter and son, Stamatina and John; and were married for 31 years before his passing.
Pauline, who was a lovingly referred to as YiaYia by everyone, loved her family and friends with passion. She made everyone around her laugh with her spunky personality. She was known for her amazing talents with Greek cuisine and her dedication to her grandchildren, who were the center of her life.
Pauline is survived by her children, Stamatina (Scott) Eldredge and John Fillippis. Her four grandchildren, Olivia (Daniel) Ipoletta, Victoria (Nic) Wootton, George (Christina) Fillippis, and Nicholas (Emily) Fillippis; four great-grandchildren Vincent Ipoletta, Mia Wootton, Leo Fillippis, and Sophia Fillippis; sister Glecia (George) Vakirtzoglu, brother George (Maha) Garifalos; nephews John Vakirtzoglu, Perry (Fawn) Fillippis; nieces Nikkie (Nick) Papariodamis and Katherine (Rob) Feriozzi; and many extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Upper Darby, Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 15th at 12:30 p.m., visitation will be prior from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm with Rev. Alexandros Kaitidis officiating. Interment will be at Fernwood Cemetery, Fernwood, Pennsylvania.
