Richard "Dick" Patterson Sr., age 89 of Cambridge, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Cleveland Clinic. He was born on December 13, 1932 in Washington County, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Hugh D. Patterson and Sara Margaret (Mustard) Patterson.
Mr. Patterson served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1954 to 1957. He was a lifelong farmer. Dick was a life member of the Freeport Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, the American Legion and Cambridge V.F.W. Post 2901. He was also a member of the Birmingham Methodist Church, the Eagles in Cambridge and the V.F.W. in Youngstown.
Dick is preceded in death by: his parents; his wife Liela Lee Patterson on May 15, 2013; one sister Sally Patterson; three brothers, Billy Patterson, Jim Patterson and Sam Patterson; and a granddaughter Jamie Keylor.
He is survived by: a daughter Molly (& Rick) Waggoner; six sons, James Keylor, Richard Patterson Jr., Alex (& Andrea) Patterson, Charles (Tracey) Patterson, William "Bill" Patterson and Sam (& Penny) Patterson; two sisters, Louise Severns and Peg McQuain; three brothers, John Patterson, Ed (& Ruby) Patterson and Harry "Max" Patterson; grandchildren, Cassie (Chris) Conte, Toby (Ashley) Waggoner, Keith (& Stacey Johnson) Waggoner, Calvin Patterson, Heather (Mitch) Blosser, Haile Nelson, Carley Patterson, Brody Patterson, Allie Patterson, Robbie Patterson, Patricia Patterson, Sara Patterson, Cortney Williams, Nicole (& Travis) Matheney, Jennifer Patterson Eddy and Dakota (& Jenna) Patterson; great grandchildren, Raiten and James Keylor, Cooper and Collin Conte, Tanner and Katelynn Waggoner, Kacey (& Jenna) Waggoner, Zachary, Abbigail and Anna Waggoner, Olivia, Lane, Laiken and Oakley Blosser, Cree Patterson, Brandon Patterson and Tucker Eddy, Lillian Patterson, Halie, Emilee and Lexy Warehime, Hunter and Riley Street, Diesel Watson, Conner and Trey Williams, Rihanna Davis and Sawyer and Cyrus Matheney; four great great grandchildren, Ava, Mason and Wrenley Waggoner and Hensley Waggoner; and many many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 4 to 8 pm with Masonic services held at 7 pm. His funeral service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 2 pm also at Bundy-Law. Burial will follow in Guernsey Memory Gardens with Military Graveside Rites performed by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. Dick's online guest book may be viewed and signed at
