Richard R. "Rick" Burris age 67 of Kimbolton, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023 at his home with family by his side. He was born on September 9, 1955 in Cambridge, a son of the late Charles E. Burris Sr. and Chrissie F. (Clarkston) Burris.
Mr. Burris was a graduate of Cambridge High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1976 to 1979 and was stationed in Korea. Rick was the owner and operator of Burris Heating and Cooling until his health led him to pass the business to his daughter and son-in-law. Rick was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Country Club, a member of the Monday league at Riverside and a member of a traveling group on Wednesdays. Rick was also a member of the Kipling VFW. He enjoyed watching Ohio State, Cleveland Cavaliers, the Cleveland Browns and NASCAR. He also loved gambling.
Rick is survived by: his wife of 26 years, Janine (Milner) Burris, they were married on July 26, 1996; his children, Misty (& Mike) Shaffer of Cambridge, Angela (& Allen) Brown of Kimbolton, Richard R. Burris Jr., Heather Burris of South Carolina and Whitney Burris of Kimbolton; a step son Zachary Brothers of Cambridge; an adopted son Tim (& Mandi) Collins of Lancaster; 13 beloved grandchildren; and several great grandchildren; his siblings, Charles (& Mary) Burris, Michelle Burris; a sister-in-law Debbie Sipe Burris; many nieces and nephews; and close friends.
He is preceded in death by: his grandparents, Ophard and Viola Clarkston Hale; his parents, Charles E. Burris and Chrissie F. (Clarkston) Burris; a sister Melinda Burris Smart; two brothers, Michael Burris and Rudy Lee Burris; a niece Teresa Burris; and several aunts, uncles.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 4 to 7 pm and on Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm with his funeral service to begin at 1 pm at Bundy-Law with Pastor Bruce Colvin officiating.
