Robert Lee Gray, age 77 of the Antrim area passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Genesis Medical Center. He was born on March 9, 1946, in Guernsey County. He was the son to the late Wayne and Hazel Rose Gray. He graduated from Madison High School in 1964. He was a lifelong member of Clearfork Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He has been a Gideon since 1997. He was an active member of the Antrim Volunteer Fire Department since 1968 where he served as president and then Fire Chief for many years. He served on the ASCS committee for several years as well as the Farm Bureau. He was also active in 4-H as child and a faithful supporter of the Junior fair.
He married Romona (Milligan) Gray on March 24, 1967. Robert was a retired bus driver. He and his wife, Romona owned and operated Gray's Dairy Farm. They milked Holstein cows for 47 years. He loved Allis-Chalmers tractors. Robert was happiest when he was in the field or in the barn. Robert loved his kids and grandchildren. He never met a stranger and loved to talk to people.
He is preceded in death by: his parents; a daughter Roberta L. Douglas; a sister Mary Campbell; brother-in-laws, Howard Campbell, Harvey Waller, David Bertram and Bob Milligan and his father and mother in-laws Raymond and Marie Milligan.
He is survived by his wife, Romona Milligan Gray whom he married on March 24, 1967, at Clearfork Baptist Church. His children, son-in-law Jay Douglas, Rose (Mike) Lanning, Rodney (Angie) Gray, Ronda (Kevin) Johnson, and Russell (Courtney) Gray; his grandchildren, Keath (Jordan) Douglas, Austin Douglas, Caleb Gray, Lindsay (Luke) Howald, Abigail Gray, Bella Gray, Nicole Lanning, Nathan Lanning, Kaden Johnson, Sam Gray, Levi Johnson; his great grandchildren, Violet, James, Evelyn, Hattie Douglas and another to arrive in March; his brothers, Kenny (Susie) Gray, Chuck (Pat) Gray, Richard (Harriet) Gray, Lawrence (Carolyn) Gray; his sisters, Alice Waller, Martha (Paul) Trushell, Esther (Bob) Vance, Shirley (Bill) Bertram and Linda Bertram; brother-in-laws, Bill Milligan, Ray (Linda) Milligan; sister-in-laws, Patty (Bob) Rausch and Judy Milligan and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 4 to 7 pm and from 10 am to 11 am on Saturday with the service beginning at 11 am. Pastor Craig Murray will officiate with burial to follow in Guernsey Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Gideons or to the Antrim Fire Department.
