Obituary

Robert (Bo) Lane Porter, age 90, of Cambridge, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at The Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center.
Bo was born in Cambridge on October 10, 1934 to the late Harry and Lorena (Lane) Porter. He was a Class of 1952 graduate of Cambridge High School and an Army Veteran as he served from 1958 to 1964 in the 342nd Military Police Reserves (6 months active duty, 5 1/2 years active reserves). Bo Married Shirley Mowrer on May 3, 1959, and she preceded him in death on July 5, 2021. He is also preceded in death by his sister Mary Alice (Porter) Upton on August 20, 2019.
Bo worked in the grocery business for 24 years, was the manager of PennyFare for 10 years, and was co-owner of Porter's Equipment from 1974 to 1984. He was a member of The Guernsey Lodge #66 Free & Accepted Masons since 1955, the Valley of Cambridge Scottish Rite since 1984, and a lifelong member of Mt. Hermon Presbyterian Church.
Bo is survived by his dog Abby; 3 nieces, Carolyn Saft of Cambridge, Barbara (Rocky) Menzie of Cambridge, and Deborah (Ross) Nelson of Salesville; a nephew Anthony Santero of Indianapolis, IN; a sister-in-law, Carol Young of Venice, FL; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
His hobbies and interests included playing golf, driving sports cars, watching Bobcat basketball and baseball games, taking care of his home, and spending time with his family and friends. He never knew a stranger, was always willing to help, and was a wealth of information. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Guernsey County Dog Shelter as Bo loved many canine companions over the years.
Visitation will be from 11am till 1pm Monday July 28, 2025 with a Masonic Service at 12:30 at Bundy-Law Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 1 pm Monday at the funeral home with Mike McCauley officiating. Burial will follow in Northwood Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by The Guernsey County Veterans Council.
