Roger Lee Beal, age 83 of Winterset, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at his home. He was born on April 2, 1938 in Birmingham, Ohio, a son of the late Orville Beal and Norma "Goldie" (Smith) Beal.
Mr. Beal worked and retired from the Cambridge State Hospital as a cook. He was a true avid outdoors man. He loved hunting, fishing and trapping. He also enjoyed pitching horse shoes and playing guitar and spending time with the family.
Roger is preceded in death by: his parents; his wife Emilie R. "Boots" (Lodge) Beal on June 20, 2021; a daughter Kimberly Beal, a son Richard Beal; and a brother Gene Beal.
He is survived by: a daughter Patricia (Brad) Chester of Old Washington; three grandchildren, Shawn (Kara) Markel, Lisa (Shawn) Ruggles and Cody Beal; seven great grandchildren, Sydney, Sophia, Ethan, Riley, Brandon, Matthew and Isabella; one great great grandson Bentley; and several nieces and nephews.
