Ross M. Long, age 7, of Cambridge, died Thursday, July 10, 2003 at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. He was born on November 6, 1995 in Columbus.
Ross's parents are Steve R. and Angela S. ''Angie'' Shivers Long. He was a member of the St. Benedict Catholic Church in Cambridge. He was active in Little League, Soccer and YMCA Basketball. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He attended St. Benedict School.
Surviving: with his parents is a younger brother; Mason P. Long, grandparents; Randy and Cindy Shivers of Cambridge, George E. and Mary Long of Cambridge, Great grandmother Janet F. Rhode Vance, 3 aunts; Amber Shivers of Cambridge, Andrea Shivers of Newark, and Barb Tony Mingione of Cambridge, 4 uncles; J.T. Shivers of Cambridge, Mike Ann Long of Cambridge, Charlie Susan Long of Norwich, and George Tracey Long of Cambridge, 1 great aunt; Meg Buddy Miller of Cambridge,2 great uncles; Kurt Elizabeth Vance of Huntersville, N.C., and Scott Lori Vance of Columbus, also survived by many cousins and friends.
He was proceeded in death by 3 paternal great grandparents; John Jack Vance and Robert and Geneva Shivers.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 and 6 to 9pm on Monday, July 14, 2003 at the funeral home. The service will be on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at 11:00 am at the St. Benedict Catholic Church in Cambridge. Father Robert Borer will be conducting the service with burial following at Mt. Calvery Cemetery.
