Ruth A. Grubbs, age 91 of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Countryview Assisted Living Center. She was born on November 18, 1927 in Cambridge, a daughter of the late Donald B. Kelley and Jennie M. (Hicks) Kelley.
Mrs. Grubbs was a 1945 graduate of Cambridge High School and then went on Bliss Business College. She had worked at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center for over 27 years as an Accredited Records Technician. She retired in 1992. She was a very active member of the St. John's Episcopal Church, the Alter Guild, Business and Professional Girls and the Ohio Eastern Star Chapter 211.
Ruth is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband William R. Grubbs; a brother Donald B. Kelley Jr.; and two sisters, Helen M. Carnes and Dorothy M. Kissinger.
She leaves behind: children, Linda (Michael) Sigman of Naples, Florida and William K. (Elizabeth) Grubbs of Cambridge; five grandchildren, Robert (Pilar) Horton, Sara (Chris Danko) Horton, Kelly (Casey) Black, Veronica Christman and Renee' (Josh) VanHorn; step-grandchildren, Ben Sigman, Erin Nasworthy, Jeremy Wilson, Veronica Read and Jack Wilson; seven great grandchildren; nine step-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, August 30, 2019. Her service will be on Saturday at 11 am also at Bundy-Law with Rev. Bob Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Northwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Guernsey or to Countryview Assisted Living.
