Sally Louise Paulus Brixner, age 81, of New Concord, OH passed away Thursday April 27, 2023 at The Beckett House in New Concord, OH. Sally was born on February 14, 1942 to the late John William Paulus and Francis Margaret Suttner Paulus in Columbus, OH.
Sally graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelors' Degree in Education. She spent over twenty years teaching elementary students' in Columbus, Newark and Cambridge. Sally enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, counted cross stitch and working sudoku. She performed as a Living History Actress and Guide at The John & Annie Glenn Museum, from its opening Day and the following 12 plus years. She was a member of The Zoning and Design Commission for The Village of New Concord for several years. A member of The First United Methodist Church in Cambridge, OH. Sally was an Honorary Rotarian in the Rotary Club of Cambridge, Ohio, for having served as the "First Lady" of Rotary in District 6690, during the year 2001-2002.
Sally is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart, Richard (Dick) Brixner whom she married July 20, 1963, celebrating nearly 60 years together. Two sons, Christopher (Fran) Brixner of Hebron, MD. and Andrew (Kimm) Brixner of Endwell, NY. Four grandsons: Kyle, Jack, Maxx, Blaise Brixner. One sister, Nancy Kirkpatrick of Bothell, WA. One sister-in-law, Sue Deibert of Pickerington, OH. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
Friends may call from 1:00 pm till 3:00 pm Saturday May 6, 2023 at The First Methodist Church, 641 Steubenville Ave., Cambridge, OH 43725. The Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 pm Saturday at the church with Rev. Tina Gallaher officiating.
