Thomas W. Gray, 88 of Cambridge passed away in the early morning hours surrounded by his family on March 12, 2026 at his home under the care of Hospice of Guernsey.
Born December 25, 1937 in Cambridge, OH, he was the son of E. Wade Gray and Elizabeth (Miller) Gray.
Tom graduated from Cambridge High School in 1955. He was a lifelong member of Mt. Hermon Presbyterian Church. He served as Elder, Trustee and Custodian since 1970. On January 31, 1960, he married the love of his life Linda Deanne (Adams) Gray, and they spent the next 66 years living a blessed life together.
He is survived by his children, his son, Steven L. (Traci) Gray and his daughter, Trudy (Roger) Nelson. His grandchildren, Jarrod (Kelsey) Gray, KaraLin (Brandon) Hatfield, Katelyn (Jonathan) Colvin, Madison Leach, Melinda (Matt) Hart, Wade Nelson, Katy (Morgan) Dougherty. His great-grandchildren, Trevon, Mariska, Aniya and Scarlet Gray, Bennett Hatfield, Kyah and Finnley Colvin, Weston and Wyatt Hart and great grandchild Dougherty due this fall. Also brother-in-law Jim Douglas, sisters-in-law Jean Thornsley, Irene Ross and Kathy Leach, special cousin Marjorie Ankrum, and a multitude of family, friends and neighbors.
He worked at Champion Spark Plug and retired after 36 years. He spent the next 20 years as a Knox Township Trustee. Tom made his garage the community garage of Indian Camp working on garden tractors and small engines, everyone was welcome.
Tom was generous, humble, selfless, adventuress, hardworking and always a little mischievous. He loved to travel with Deanne making it to 48 of the 50 states. He thoroughly enjoyed his time outside and in his garage, NASCAR racing especially being a fan of Dale Earnhardt and always ready to give hugs.
Ultimately, Tom's greatest joy was the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He looked forward to their visits and calls but especially the dinners with great food and fellowship. His last days were spent with all of them discussing days gone by and memories.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley J. (Gray) Douglas and his brother, William C. Gray.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 2pm to 5 pm. and again on Monday, at Mt. Hermon Presbyterian Church from 10am-11:30am with the service to begin at 11:30am. Mike McCauley will officiate with burial to follow in Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
