Vernon L. Rawlins, age 85 of Cambridge, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Guernsey County on December 25, 1940, a son of the late Harold V. Rawlins and Dorothy Grace (Shipman) Rawlins.
Mr. Rawlins was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church since 1991. He Worked for the Autoport until 1974 and then went to work at Shield Alloy until retiring in 1999. Vernon enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was a family man that loved the Lord, and throughly enjoyed his kids, grandkids, great grandkids and especially his wife.
Vernon was married on November 25, 1958, to his wife of 67 years, Barbara S. (Smith) Rawlins; also surviving are; two daughters, Kathy S. (& Ron) Taylor of Columbus and Debbie K. (& Mike) Black of Cambridge; a son Scott (& Karen) Rawlins of Old Washington; four grandchildren, Jason Latchic, Morgan Black (& Taylor Reitmeyer), Michael (& Brooke) Black and Jake (& Madyson) Black; five great grandchildren, Avery Black, Brayden Black, Joe Latchic, Tucker Black and Cooper Black; a sister Marlene Kolsto of Cincinnati; and several nieces and nephews.
Vernon was preceded in death by: his parents; and a half brother Dale Slevin and a half sister Gloria Lewis.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Trinity Baptist Church 7022 Bloomfield Road, Cambridge, Ohio 43725, from 2pm to 5pm with his funeral to begin at 5pm. Pastors Adam Hall and Wib Bragg will officiate the service with burial will take place at a later date in Northwood Cemetery.
